Neutral Tye Dye & Gladiator Sandals

Tye Dye Dress Stitch fix shoes End of Summer style Tye dye dress #OOTD Stitch Fix Shoes

As summer draws to a close, I start to break out my dresses which are perfect for transitioning to the fall. Which by the way is my FAVORITE season.

This dress is casual, and super comfy. The best end of summer dress. It’s tight-fitting until the hips, which elongates the waist. This is great for anyone who has short torso like me! I love the neutral Tye dye look. It gives the dress an edge. If you wanted, you could totally dress this up with booties and a leather jacket. Just sayin’.

As it gets colder, I will miss these gladiator sandals. I received them in a Stitch fix earlier this summer, and they quickly became one of my faves!

What’s your favorite end of summer style?

Crochet top & Baggy Linen Pants

Crochet Top Crochet Top linen pantsStatement ring

Top: Shoptiques || Pants: TJ Maxx (sold out similar style here) || Ring: JCPenney || Headband: Francesca’s

Everything about this outfit! Right down to the turquoise octopus ring!  What’s also great is this entire outfit was on sale when I put it together, which makes it even better. I’m all about bargain shopping.

When I found the linen pants at TJ Maxx I knew that a crop top would be perfect to complete the look. The detail in the crochet top is gorgeous, and great for those humid days. I’ve always been a huge fan of fringe so that just makes the shirt even better.

I love the detail in the headband, which you can wear a couple different ways. My favorite way to wear headbands is the way above; “hippie style”. Which I think is appropriate for this look.

What kind of details in outfits do you love?

Vintage Inspired Engagement Shoot

All photos by Live Film

I find something so romantic about the past. Before social media and texting, people connected in different ways. There was a time that lovers even went a few days without talking. Often people wrote each other letters or called from an old telephone. Instead of having pictures of loved ones saved in their cell phones, many carried photos in their lockets or wallets. Don’t get me wrong- I love technology, but I also appreciate the time when it wasn’t so abundant in our society. In fact, I find those era’s intriguing.  Seeing as I am a HUGE vintage fan,  I wanted our engagement shoot to capture that romantic feel.

We decided to do the shoot in Ellicot City. It’s a charming little area with lots of history, cobble stone streets, and amazing brick walls. If you ever travel through the Maryland area I definitely recommend checking it out.

My (now)husband was SUCH a good sport about the shoot. He’s a jeans and t-shirt guy so when I originally pitched the idea to him, he was  not very enthused. However, he did not once complain (to me anyway).

I found my dress at a Vintage Clothing Store known as Polly Sues. This store is so fun. They have all kinds of old accessories, hats, and clothing.  If you’re a fan of vintage style, you must check it out! The suspenders and news boy cap came from there as well.

My grandmother passed at the young age of 61. I never got the chance to meet her, as I wasn’t even born yet. Anyone that knew her always spoke so highly of her. After my Aunt passed a few years ago, my parents and I started going through her things. She was another one that appreciated the past as much as I.  I was so drawn to this picture of my grandmother. I asked Nicole if we could try to recreate this picture.

My beautiful grandmother circa 1942 and me to the right.

I couldn’t have been happier with the way the all photos turned out. It was nice to do something a little outside the box. And thank goodness my husband has a lot of patience :).

Ipsy Glam Bag ~ February Review

IMG_5401

Februarys Ipsy bag arrived a day later than it normally does, most likely due to the weather. I didn’t love the design of this bag as much as January’s but it was still a fabulous glam bag! I was pretty satisfied with all the products I received. My pick this month was Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer Oil.

Promise Organic~Ultra Moisturizing Argan Creme Facial LotionIMG_5363

This lotion mostly made of Olive Oil and Argan was super moisturizing to my dry skin. I usually use coconut oil as a moisturizer, but I’m always open to trying new products. I decided to mix this product with some sunscreen for the perfect daytime creme.

Paula Dorf~ Baby Eyes EnhancerIMG_5361

If you ever want to highlight your eyes, I highly recommend this product. Using a light colored eye pencil on the rim of your eye really helps to brighten your face. This product is made with vitamin E so it doesn’t dry the eyes.

Luxie Beauty~ Flat Definer Brush 221IMG_5362

Just like shoes, a girl can never have to many makeup brushes! I always get excited to receive these in my glam bags, because good brushes can be pricey. This brush was perfect for eye lining. The brush is   cruelty and paraben free

Smashbox Cosmetics~ Photo Finish Primer OilIMG_5359

I have always been a fan of Smashbox cosmetics. Especially their Photo finish products. So when I saw this Primer Oil I instantly knew we would be friends. Before applying foundation it’s always a good idea to use a primer. It helps to soften the skin and minimize the appearance of pores. The Primer Oil was very hydrating. It contains Jojoba and Chamomile which are very soothing to the skin. It also can be used on the ends of your hair! I love when products have multiple uses!

Chella~ Lipstick PencilIMG_5360

I have become a huge fan of lipstick pencils. They are usually extremely moisturizing and long-lasting. I loved the way the Chella pencil applied. Overall a good product, however I wasn’t a huge fan of the color with my complexion.

Stitch Fix Review

A few months ago while browsing through my News feed on Facebook, I saw a friend post about a service called Stitch fix. Seeing as I love clothes, I curiously clicked on the link.clothes-922988_640

As I began to read about the service,  I thought “How easy and convenient.”

When I read the average price of an item, I’ll admit I was a little hesitant. As I’m getting older, I don’t mind investing in clothing, I just don’t want to break the bank while doing it.  I must say I am SO glad that did not detour me from signing up. Once I clicked on the link I was prompted to fill out my “style profile”. Here, you can select what price range is acceptable for the items you receive. Naturally,  I selected the option “the cheaper the  better”. So the average price of items in my fix is $30-$40, which for me is a bit more reasonable.

You are able to customize the frequency of your fixes. So if one month I decide I don’t want it I can reschedule it to any month I choose. Or if I decide I want another fix sooner than later I can schedule that as well. Seeing as I don’t have a lot of time to shop, it’s the best thing I’ve done for myself in a while.

I also always have to try items on.  In one style of clothing I may need a small, but in another I may need a large. It just depends on the cut. For those of you who have busy toddlers, you know trying items on at a store is next to impossible.  Stitch fix allows you to try the items on in the convenience of your own home.  You can also try the clothing on with other items from your wardrobe which is great. In the Stitch fix box, is a card from your stylist with a note about the items you received. There’s also a styling card which gives you tips on how to wear the items.

I also love that you can ask your stylist to send you certain things. Lately I haven’t been asking for anything because I just love the surprise! I recently received a sweater that I never would have picked up in the store. When I tried it on, I seriously did not want to take it off. It’s now my go to sweater! I think my favorite part about the service is the fact that your stylist sends you items that may be a little out of your comfort zone. There is usually one item in every fix that I am unsure about. But I always try every item on, and that’s usually the item I almost always keep. You can also start a Pinterest Board, where the stylist will check the pins you save. I received a shirt similar to one that I had pinned to my board in my last fix. (Genius!)

here’s just a few items I recently received. Shoes not included

I must say that Stitch fix is just over all a fun service. When I see the package sitting on my back steps I get so excited! It comes wrapped in tissue paper just like a little gift. I’ve received clothing, jewelry and  hand bags!FullSizeRender (31)

If you are interested in receiving your own fix click here I hope it’s as much fun for you as it is for me!
